THE IDEA: This trip was originally conceived as a way for artists to travel and work together, sharing -- and thus minimizing -- the costs. Little of the trip is structured from the outset and much of the intinerary can be decided on by the group. The package includes a few meals but not all. We will be in Italy, after all, and will want to taste the local cuisine. Members of the group are welcome to cook together in the villa, which has been the case in the past. There will be many options for those who may not want to join the group on a particular day. There will be an additional small car that may be going in a different direction. There is a good train and bus system. And best of all, there is so much to do -- either painting or relaxing by the pool -- right by the villa. Because in the past we have had spouses or partners join us who were not artists we are planning the first week to include a good deal of tourism. There are no restricitions on who can join the group as long as they don't mind hanging out with artists. You can enjoy the privacy of your own room or mix with the group around the table or in the studio.
